Adobe Photoshop Product Review

Photoshop: Where it all begins!

What do you like best?
The secret to Photoshop is that they work so dang hard to stay out of the way throughout the creative process and this is achieved through tools and workflows that work seamlessly and intuitively. Photoshop truly becomes a natural extension of yourself and your creative expression.
What do you dislike?
My only dislike is that the UX can be intimidating for someone just starting out. Since the implementation of Adobe Cloud, upon startup, there are new windows that help guide new users in the right direction. My advice is, “Don’t be afraid!” You really only need to dedicate a day, two days tops, to putting names to each tool and understanding their purpose. Use them at your own pace and take advantage of the massive community of like-minded creatives that are out there and eager to lend a helping hand. Once you find your groove and settle in with the software, you’ll wonder how you lived without it!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don’t let the learning curve intimidate you. The best way to learn is just get in there and play around. There is a wealth of knowledge shared through forums, groups, books, local classes, etc… You’ll be glad you did and will wonder how you’ve gone so long without it!
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
I have used Photoshop since their earliest release on floppies, and to this day, through all these years, there hasn’t been a creative challenge that I couldn’t solve in Photoshop. If you can dream it, you can build it. From sketching and illustrating, to photo manipulations, to product mockups…your imagination is the only limit. Photoshop doesn’t just stop at 2D. 3D solutions can be met as well as video and animation. Photoshop is my go-to software to work out creative solutions for both my clients and personal projects.
